individual workshops at the bar

Starting now, I am available for individual poetry workshops at a bar of my choice. All you have to do is pay for my dinner and drinks. Drinks last until the workshop ends. Schedule: Monday - Friday 6pm - 9pm. Special weekend rates are available. Holidays negotiable. To schedule a workshop email me at justinedwardsirois at gmail dot com.

My qualifications: I have a few books out and have been published in some great journals. I have 8 years experience in indie publishing. I've won four Maryland State Art Council grants in poetry and fiction, a Baker "b" grant, a Baltimore Writers' Alliance prize (judged by Frank Lima), and have been featured on/in Baltimore Magazine, The Baltimore City Paper, Maryland Morning, The Urbanite, The Signal (WYPR), and The Mark Steiner Show. I am also very nice, even when I drink too much.

Brilliant. I assume the longer the drinks last the better the workshop gets.

how about once they're done with you, they can get an hour of consultation w/ hottest prof in america? so they buy you dinner & beer, then they buy me dinner & beer! (or scotch) (& beer). i wholly endorse this approach. but realize that i might not quite be your vision of things. ahahahaha. ---b.a.

If I were in Baltimore, I'd be down for this. But I wouldn't be that interested in the workshop part, just the drinking part.

Adam, yes! That's a very great point. Dan, no! You cannot steal my business. Gina, surely. You can buy me dinner and drinks any time as long as I can return the favor.

I think that this could, effectively, recast the entire MFA program model. All tutorials take place in bars, and will endure -- last -- prevaricate? -- so long as the booze flows (floze?). Dude, I could *never* steal your bidness. You Da, and you know You Da. -------b.a.

Ah, Jamie GP had this idea a few months back. And I agree, it would be brilliant.
