I wonder what the "state gun" or "state firearm" would be for Maryland. California obviously gets the AK; we can thank Ice Cube and Mexican gangs for that. Detroit gets the Tec-9. It's cheap and unreliable and was rebranded like 8 times in the 90s. Maryland is too colonial for a modern firearm. You've got modern gangster Baltimore to consider as well. A happy medium perhaps?
