YTMSIWYAP

why do I like cheese so much? I think

it makes NASCAR in my brain-parts –

the temporary seems so permanent

when it’s that good. Why do I like

cigars so much? It’s about

tasting the soil & the sun &

breathing in a place you’ve

never been. Havana!

what a great idea,

that Havana

*

who decides then, what to like &

how?

Who deserves your liking?

A cheeseburger tastes different

when you eat it in a car

*

I put my arm around the you

that isn’t there – in the theatre, around

the passenger side. Remember when

pretending was more real than

dinner & dodge ball? You have

everything you need

when you’re naked

*

a few poems ago, I said I wanted to look

more like a Native American.

Forget about that. Seriously.

What was I thinking?

Picture me with a Viking hat &

a Viking beard & Viking weaponry

but I still own a house & stuff

*

now

picture the likeness of yourself

liking whoever you want

& you say I am the Cheese

& they say

yes please
