Former Defense Secretary Robert McNamara

Just this weekend, my new friend Christiann and I were discussing war (and politicians who defined their careers through war policies) and we laughed about Former Defense Secretary Robert McNamara's karma. We wondered if he's run the number of people saved from the invention of the seat belt against the the numbers of casualties resulting from his policy decisions. Something tells me this man of numbers did the arithmetic a long time ago.
RIP, sir.

The best I can say about McNamara is that he seemed to have a conscience. At least enough of one to be haunted. Doesn't change anything, but it somehow made him less spooky to me than some others:

Agreed. Cheney seems to be the personification of some ancient, compounded evil. Hey! Bookface is firewalled at work.
